If you are buying a home with a septic tank, you should consider having it inspected. Our standard home inspection does not include this type of specialized inspection. However, we do offer it as an extra ancillary service.  This is because to properly inspect the system, we will need to dig holes to access some underground parts of the system and perform tests and inspections which would require more time than a standard inspection would allow. This will include inspecting the tank, as well as the leach field.
